Happy birthday, dude.

I was just thinking of you. Because of your visit to Utah. A friend is visiting me on Thursday. I’m getting near high risk for age with a pre-diabetic risk factor. He’s an ER doc so his job is high risk although his hospital in WI is in the sticks with very low COVID.

But he visits his family in Chicago, his wife’s family in Georgia where it just about everyone in his wife’s family has had COVID. I think they’re high risk for being asymptomatic spreaders of COVID to me. I’m not a risk to them.

They’re going to sleep in his Jeep (the one with a popup roof tent that I store for him in the backyard). They’ll come through the garage to use the bathroom in the lower level of the house. Stay out of the rest of the house. Wear a mask when in the house. We’ll hang out social distancing in the backyard.

I don’t remember when you’re visiting Utah but I seem to remember we’re taking similar precautions.

Yes, we are taking similar approaches, though I think your friend is a significant risk, as you’ve described things. My wife and I have been diligently distancing, as have my daughter and her husband. We will mask, wear gloves in the gas stations along the way, and say our prayers. And see our grandbaby.

She has made that for money. She sold big slabs for donations to a teen homeless shelter, delivered the slices in the evenings, raised a couple hundred dollars. It was an activity during the quarantine. That’s chocolate-infused whipped cream on top of a super-moist from-scratch chocolate cake. Absolutely the BOMBEST.
